Vote Compass Canada for upcoming federal electionKieskompas has partnered with Vote Compass Canada to create Canada's first-ever voting advice application in anticipation of the upcoming Canadian federal election. Dr. André Krouwel (VU University Amsterdam) will consult with Professors André Blais (Université de Montréal), Elisabeth Gidengil (McGill University), Richard Johnston (University of British Columbia) and Neil Nevitte (University of Toronto) on the design on the Canadian version of Kieskompas, which has been commissioned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in association with the University of Toronto at Scarborough and the Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship. Clifton van der Linden, a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto and Director of Vote Compass Canada initiated this Canadian version of Kieskompas. Clifton van der Linden was exposed to Kieskompas during his stay as a visiting researcher at the VU University Amsterdam in 2010. During the Dutch national elections that year he was impressed by the reach and impact of Kieskompas, which will now be emulated to Canada. |
